Pastor Sign Fireman reveals why Enebeli Enebuwa is sick again

More revelations are coming out on the health conditions of veteran Nollywood actor, Enebeli Enebuwa.

For some months now, the actor has been bedridden over his poor health condition diagnosed as stroke.

He was reported to have been healed by Pastor Sign Fireman of Perfect Christianity Mission, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos some weeks ago. A video was posted online through YouTube showing the actor walking.

Two weeks ago, Pa Enebeli cried out that people should not believe the video online about him walking. Enebeli reportedly claimed that the purported healing claims of Pastor Fireman was fake.

A family representative also told Nigeriafilms.com two weeks ago that the actor's condition worsened after he visited the pastor's church some weeks ago.

In an exclusive interview with Nigeriafilms.com yesterday, Sunday, June 10, Pastor Sign Fireman said Pa Enebeli visited his church on March 6 and was healed same day after the actor begged him to help his health condition.

He told Nigeriafilms.com that he warned Enebeli of some things he needed to heed to in order to keep his healing intact.

The conditions he said he gave Enebeli were;
1. stop thinking of his house

2. Take his mind off marital challenges and

3. He can then have his healing

He also told Nigeriafilms.com that he warned Enebeli of mixing his faith with doctrines of white garment churches which his wife attends but the actor failed to heed this warning.

He then asked of what union does light has with darkness?

He said Enebeli's condition may have degenerated due to his inability to complete his healing process. He said some healing miracles need to be nurtured into maturity.

"In the video I gave you Nigeriafilms.com, Enebeli said he had not walked for five months, but he walked after i healed him.

"After that day, I never saw him again. I told him to always visit the church to go through a healing process. This is a common thing with healing ministries. Why would he say I didn't heal? Why would he say my healing was fake?,

He said some people held his legs while he was walking. Tell me in the video with you where people held his legs to walk? I still don't want to believe he said that," Pastor Fireman told Nigeriafilms.com.

Clearing the air on the video posted online, Pastor Fireman said he is not responsible for that. He said he has never and will never do such.

"I don't need Pa Enebeli's healing to authenticate my healing and miracle ministry. I have healed top Hollywood actors of AIDS and other diseases, why didn't I post them online?

"His healing miracle is not near the biggest miracle I have performed. So, why would I want to take glory for his healing?" the pastor asked.

Air Nigeria has been grounded by the NCAA

Air Nigeria’s continuing controversies seem to have come to a head.
According to Daily Times: “The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the operations of Air Nigeria as a result of the strike embarked upon by its engineers and pilots over their remuneration.
“Sam Adurogboye, the NCAA’s spokesman, confirmed the suspension, while responding to enquiries about the current state and performance of the airline.
“The suspension of the operations of Air Nigeria is a routine action that will to enable us (NCAA) to scrutinise the airline before allowing it to start operations again having being on strike for days,” he said, “It is a normal exercise.”
Pilots and engineers of the airline had embarked on the weeklong strike to press for improved conditions of service.

Hello Mobolaji,
 I thank you for the messages you have been sending to me but I want to lodge a complain through your office. My wife and I together with other passenger had a terrible waiting experience for your airline, Air Nigeria, flight VK 822 from Douala to Lagos on the 15th of May 2012. We waited for almost 8 hours before we could take off from Duoala airport. I missed my appointment in Lagos and got to Lagos the following morning. Some passengers had to sleep at the airport for fear of being robbed on Lagos road at that time of the day. To make the matter worst, there was no one from your stable to apologise to us or to tell us the situation of things. I felt gutted, disrespected and abused by a liner bearing the name of my beloved country. Interestingly, your airline was scheduled to start operating the Lagos-London, London- Lagos route. I wonder, why would you be so ambitious to run that route when the services you give in Nigeria/Africa is appalling. The other bother for me is the troubling thought of why would you be spending so much on advert and PR promising clients quality services that you are not capable of giving. The attitude of some of your stewards is really terrible. They lack manners and not well groomed on ettiquete of serving. On our journey to Duoala on Air Nigeria flight 827, we saw a tray used on the plane bearing Kenya Airline. That was corporately suicidal. Why was there no proper check to ensure your logo is on such item?
 Am not running down your company but telling you the honest truth as an aggrieved client that seeks for your progress.
 I advice you make customer service a top priority in your service. The best way you can get the loyalty of clients is to wears a human face and act responsibly. We cannot because of patriotism allow ourselves to be abused and disrespected wantomly. You can make your airline indeed the choice airline if things are done properly.
 I pray this complain will not be treated with levity.

Farouk Lawan : i never collected money from anybody

....says video clip is a caricature meant to blackmail him

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy, Hon. Farouk Lawan, has denied media reports that a top member of the committee received $600,000 bribe from an oil marketer to influence the report.

Lawan told journalists in Abuja last night that he neither demanded nor collected money from "anybody in connection with the fuel subsidy probe."

In a situation where the Committee uncovered fraud over N1 trillion, Lawan said it should be expected that the powerful cabal behind the high scale corruption in the oil sector would not only fight back but would fight dirty.

Denying ever meeting the unnamed oil marketer at the Abuja airport to receive the $600,000 first installment of what was said to be a $3 million bribe, an apparently angry Lawan said he had to leave the country when pressures were coming from high quarters to doctor the report to suit certain interest.

Lawan, in a statement bearing his signature and issued to newsmen, said: "My attention has been drawn to several newspapers and Internet stories alleging that a prominent member of the House Adhoc Committee on Petroleum Subsidy demanded and received the sun of $600,000 as bribe from an oil marketer.

"I wish to categorically deny that I or any member of the committee demanded and received any bribe from anybody in connection with the fuel subsidy probe and I believe this is evident from thorough and indepth manner the investigation was carried out and the all-encompassing recommendations produced therefrom as approved by the whole House.

"The general public is hereby reminded that during and after the investigations, we have severally raised alarm on pressures on us from different quarters. In particular, I wish to refer to the front page publication in the Leadership Weekend newspaper of 28th, April, 2012 captioned "Marketers offered subsidy committee plane-load of dollars" where we alerted the public that a marketer promised to fly in a jet loaded with US dollars which he "intended to share to both the House leadership and members of the Adhoc Committee" to influence the outcome of the report.

"The clarification is necessary in order to clear all the insinuations being bandied about and more importantly to enable Government concentrate on the implementation of the report.

"The present mudslinging is not unexpected in view of the caliber of people whose actions or inactions were found wanting in the report. I am aware that in their desperation to discredit the report and divert the attention of the public from the real issues of large scale fraud in high places established in our report, a video footage displaying a caricature of my person allegedly having a dealing with a marketer reminiscent of military ear when dignitaries were invited to the Villa to watch video clip of phantom coup involving Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is already in circulation.

"I wish to assure all Nigerians that the sanctity of our reports remains unassailable and it will be in the best interest of the country if the relevant authorities faithfully and consciously implement the resolutions of the House. No amount of red-herring and cheap blackmail will affect our resolve to act in the best interest of the country with all the available information at our disposal. No doubt, the last has not been heard".

Man cured of aids : " i feel good"

The fact that Timothy Brown is a reasonably healthy 46-year-old is no small thing. Only a few years ago, he had AIDS.
"I feel good," Brown told ABC News. "I haven't had any major illnesses, just occasional colds like normal people."

Brown is the only person in the world to be cured of AIDS, the result of a transplant of blood stem cells he received to treat leukemia.
"My case is the proof in concept that HIV can be cured," he said.
Brown got lucky. The blood stem cells he received came from a donor with a special genetic mutation that made him resistant to HIV.

The genetic mutation occurs in less than 1 percent of Caucasians, and far less frequently in people of other races. Before Brown got his transplant in 2007, doctors tested nearly 70 donors for this genetic mutation before they found one who was a match.
But doctors hope that a similar solution could help other people with HIV: umbilical cord blood transplants.


Dr. Lawrence Petz, medical director of StemCyte, an umbilical cord blood bank, said although Brown was cured by his transplant, the process was complicated because the blood stem cells came from an adult donor.
"When you do that you have to have a very close match between donor and recipient," Petz said. "With umbilical cord blood, we don't need such a close match. It's far easier to find donor matches."
But it's still not that easy.

Petz and his colleagues have tested 17,000 samples of cord blood so far, and found just 102 that have the genetic HIV-resistant mutation. The team performed the first cord blood transplant on an HIV-infected patient a few weeks ago, and they have another transplant planned for a similar patient in Madrid, Spain, later this year. It will still be months before researchers can tell if the transplants have any effect on the patients' HIV.

Petz also noted that transplants aren't performed solely to treat AIDS. Patients who get them have an additional condition that requires a blood stem cell transplant. Curing their AIDS would be an incredible bonus.
"It can be done. It's just a matter of time," Petz said.
Brown had his transplant in February 2007.

Today, his body shows no signs of the virus.
Brown said he feels guilty being the only person to have been cured of the virus when millions still live with it. But he hopes his story will inspire others that a cure is possible.
"I don't want to be the only person in the world cured of HIV. I want a cure for everyone," he said.

Fraudulent female banker allegedly stole N125.6 million in Diamond bank

What a man can do, like they say, women can do better. And one woman who tried to live out this dictum in the wrong way has been arraigned on a 15-count of conspiracy and fraud before the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State.

Marilyn-Joan Obiora, a staff of Diamond Bank Plc, was dragged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), followed a petition by Mr. Stephen Inegbu, the zonal security supervisor of Diamond Bank Plc in Port Harcourt, over sharp practices by the suspect and others at large.

Marilyn-Joan's fraud was detected during a routine examination of customers’ accounts in the bank. According to Mr. Inegbu, the Bank’s inspection unit unravelled three cases of fraud involving the following amounts: N26 million; N91.6 million; and N8 million.

The EFCC said upon further investigation, it was discovered that Marilyn-Joan masterminded the fraudulent withdrawals which amounted to a total of N125.6 million, with help from four other officials of the Bank, now at large.

Although Marilyn-Joan pleaded not guilty to the charges, Justice Umar remanded her in custody and adjourned the case to July 19th, 2012, for commencement of trial.

Our attention has been drawn to the orchestrated plan to politicize the Sunday Dana Air crash in Lagos in which many people lost their lives, through rumours about the possible cause of the accident citing VIP movement involving the wife of the President.

We consider it callous, inhuman and devilish for anyone to have thought of wrapping such national calamity in political garb by insinuating that the plane crashed because the airspace was closed for the First Lady's movement in Lagos.

For the avoidance of doubt, the First Lady arrived Lagos at about 2pm on Saturday, 2nd June, 2012 for a private engagement and was billed to leave for Abuja on Monday, 4th June, 2012.

In compliance with her itinerary, the First Lady arrived Lagos on Saturday. She was at a public event on Sunday when the accident occurred and promptly abandoned the ceremony as a mark of respect for the victims and retired to the State House, Marina. She left Lagos at exactly 13.15hrs on Monday, 4th June, 2012, according to schedule.

It is therefore surprising that some mischievous persons will see this moment of National mourning as an opportunity to blackmail and impugn the First Lady's integrity.

This is the time for all Nigerians to be sober and pray for the repose of the souls of the victims and not a time to subordinate the interests of our nation to narrow self-serving interests.

Let us all put the interest of the Nation first in whatever we do.

Mrs. Jonathan had no intention to travel on Sunday and never did. Like all Nigerians, she has been mourning the dead.

victims families to receive N16 million per victim

The management of Dana Air, is expected to pay not less than $100,000.00 as insurance claims for each of the 153 passengers who died during the incident. This is in line with the requirement of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The expected compensation regime is also in line with the the standard set by the ICAO, Montreal Convention, which a few years ago raised the compensation to $100,000.00 from the $10,000.00 stipulated by ICAO, according to the Warsaw Convention.

Also, DANA Air is expected to pay $250,000.00 respectively to the families of the two pilots, as compensation, while, the six crew members’ will each be paid $150,000.00 each.
However, the Government agency have begun DNA tests for the 148 Dana crash victims who are already being taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue in Ikeja in order to allow their relatives to identify them.According to a Federal Road Safety Commission spokesman Jonas Agwu gave the details of the recovered bodies as males 88, females 48 and children 12.

He noted the recovery of bodies would continue today. The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the DNA test is very important for victims who burnt beyond recongnitions.
He said the tests were being carried out at LASUTH.

The bodies were taken to the morgues at LASUTH and the Mainland General Hospital. An official said the identified bodies were tagged. Another FRSC official Mr. Fatai Adesina Bakare stated that, “We have also recovered a number of personal effects, like handbags, traveler’s bags, shoes, combs and cash.
“We have, for instance, an identity card of an employee of NNPC, and from his purse, we recovered some cash, and business cards, which have been lodged. We also recovered a woman’s a purse containing $114 and N4,000 cash.”

“We have created a desk where all those personal effects are been documented and officials who are in charge would do justice to them and ensure that it gets to family members of the victims safely.”

Air Nigeria has released a statement to debunk what they term 'negative and false information' being circulated by the dismissed finance director of the airline, John Nnorom (pictured above). The statement made available to journalists below...

The management of Air Nigeria wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the false and negative stories being spread by one of its ex- Finance Directors, John Nnorom, who is currently facing criminal charges of stealing and conversion. Mr. Nnorom is an illiterate in the maintenance of aircraft as he only worked in the finance department of the airline before he was dismissed. Mr. Nnorom after his dismissal was declared wanted by the police until his subsequent arrest and the recovery of the sum of $100, 000 from him.

The Nigeria Police authority has since charged him for stealing and criminal conversion while the court has admitted him to bail as his criminal trial continues.

The general public is advised to disregard any such negative stories and false information by Nnorom (either in the print, electronic or online media).
Air Nigeria has been flying the air space in the last 10 years with first class record of safety, without any accidents or even emergency landings.
This record remains the integrity of our existence which cannot be compromised. The airline is also a proud member of the IATA and the oldest member in West Africa and one of the oldest in Africa.

AIR NIGERIA IS A FLYING COFFIN

John I. Nnorom, a former Executive Director for Finance at Air Nigeria, has warned Nigerians to stop flying the airline until they are sure that its planes are being properly maintained.

In a blistering public petition, Mr. Nnorom, who resigned his appointment with the airline on April 1, 2012, blamed the situation on big businessman Jimoh Ibrahim, the chairman of Air Nigeria, whom he accused of being uninterested in the maintenance of company aircraft.

“Some of the certifying Engineers and I are under threat of assassination by Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, if we reveal this secret to Nigerians,” he said.
Mr. Nnorom said that upon his resignation, he wrote a letter in which he said he preferred to die than to be a witness to over 100 souls perishing in an Air Nigeria aircraft.

He disclosed that Air Nigeria is in financial crisis because money loaned by Bank of Industry of N35.5Billion has been diverted into Mr. Ibrahim’s NICON INVESTMENT LTD, a non-finance company popularly called wonder bank, leading to air safety being compromised, and stressed that there is a great possibility of a disastrous Air Nigeria crash, which can occur at any time.

He recalled that in Jan 2012, Licensed Engineers in Air Nigeria went on strike because they were being forced to certify unfit aircraft into the air, and another strike was averted in March 2012 following the intervention of the DG-NCAA, Demureen. Both events, he said, were based on failure on Failure To Meet Safety Standard, and are verifiable information the public is aware of.

Why are Air Nigeria flights sometimes delayed for as many as eight hours? According to the petitioner, that is because the aircraft for that flight is not ready. “While passengers are waiting, engineers are battling to put the aircraft on Air. Several times our Aircraft on Runway taxing to takeoff, turns back to offload passengers due to some technical faults observed by Pilots.”

He said that of the 11 aircraft being operated by Air Nigeria, only one, Embraer, is safe to fly Nigeria Air space, with all of the others needing “deep and heavy” technical maintenance.

“This explains why Air Nigeria has never operated more than six Aircraft out of eleven Aircraft. Air Nigeria do not have the money to fix these Aircrafts. Let anybody go and check now, some of the Aircraft and Engines have been grounded for the past one year.”

Mr. Nnorom even advised Nigerians who choose to take the risk of flying Air Nigeria not to eat or drink anything, pointing out that passengers have been poisoned because Air Nigeria serves bottled pure water, and that passengers have complained of being served “smelling waters.”

Mr. Nnorom further claimed in the petition that Mr. Ibrahim’s companies, including Air Nigeria, do not have tax clearance certificates. He listed the others as Global Fleet Oil & Gas, NICON Insurance, Nigeria RE-Insurance, NICON Properties Ltd, Nicon Luxury, Nicon Hotels Okitipupa, VGC & PHC, Newswatch Communications, Newswatch Daily and National Mirror.

“In Air Nigeria, just to renew expatriate resident permit, Bar Jimoh Ibrahim will instruct a vendor to forge all the tax clearance papers which is filed with the immigration.”

Mr. Nnorom alleges that Mr. Ibrahim:

• As the chairman of Air Nigeria, has diverted N5billion From a BOI aviation industry intervention loan Of N35.5billion granted last year by the federal government through the Central Bank of Nigeria into NICON INVESTMENT LTD;

• Diverted $18m Out Of $40m Afrixim federal government support of the aviation industry; with $26,969,505.63 diverted into Mr. Ibrahim’s acquisition of Energy Bank of Ghana;

• Diverted N10 billion released by the government through the office of the Accountant-General of Nigeria for the payment of pensioners into Nicon Insurance Plc released the sum of, with no pensioner being paid.

Mr. Nnorom insisted that Mr. Ibrahim is trying to kill him, and attached his letter of resignation and subsequent acknowledgement by the CEO and FOREIGN LEASSORS to the petition.

“On the SFU, recovery of $75,000 from me, I was never arrested, never invited by SFU, did not make any statement, I do not know how money was recovered from me,” he said. “I am ready to sponsor any person to come with me to SFU and show me my statement,” attributing the matter to Mr. Ibrahim’s “poor character of cheap blackmail.”

According to the former Executive Director, “Jimoh Ibrahim is after my life but if my death will save hundred Nigerian souls from plane crash and that is the will of GOD, my soul will be happy to meet my creator anytime.”

DANA CRASH LATEST- i really hope this is a big fat lie

I just received confirmation that this is true!

Pls read: Is there any way of getting confirmation about news I'm just getting that
the Dana plane was distressed for a while but could not make an emergency landing
because the airspace was closed for 2 hours for - the Presidential Jet carrying Dame
Patience Goodluck Jonathan.

Private jet owners who had to hover in the air same time leaked this. This was
apparently the reason local news didn't report the crash for so long till CNN and
foreign news stations started reporting it.

Local news was 'blacked out' trying to kill the story of the airspace being closed
while a distressed plane couldn't land.

It would be shocking if so. Though there was engine failure there was still time for
the plane to have landed apparently.

You do know anyway that the airspace is closed for up to 2hours each time the
Presidential Jet needs to go into the air. 2 hours for a 15minute takeoff or
landing!

And this jet is used by President, VP, President's wife and if I recall David Mark.

It's almost a daily occurrence I've been told by airline staff when it caught me out
on a trip.
I read this and reay had to share it..i hope its all a big lie

YET ANOTHER TRAGEDY

The new central hospital on sapele road in edo state funded by the edo stste government,collapsed just yesterday.
The hospital which is still under construction is said to have collapsed and has trapped some of the workers .

This happened just a day after the Dana air tragedy......what is going on with Nigeria!!!

PLANE CRASHES IN IJU AREA OF LAGOS

A Dana airways flight conveying passengers from abuja to lagos has just been confirmed to have crashed in the iju/shaga area of lagos state of Nigeria. There's no certainty as to what may have caused the crash or how many passengers were on board but the estimated figure as at now is 152.

Sani Shu’aibu Teidi, one of the suspects standing trial before the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the massive looting of the pension treasury, has alleged that he and other accomplices paid the Senator Aloysius Etuk-led Senate Committee a N3bn bribe in dollars.
The bribe, it was alleged, was to stall the prosecution of the accused persons.

The bribe scandal took another dimension following the mentioning of the name of the immediate past chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs Farida Waziri, who allegedly working with the mindset that the Senate Committee would make good its promise of stalling the case of the accused persons, also got a property located at Parakou Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja, as bribe.

The principal suspect further alleged that the Senator Aloysius Etuk-led committee failed to fulfil an earlier promise of helping to stall their prosecution after collecting the N3bn contributory bribe.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the allegations are already causing ripples within the Senate committee.

A source close to the principal accused, Dr. Teidi, said that the cause of the disaffection within the Senate committee was borne out of the discovery that, out of the N3bn obtained as bribe from the six accused, Senator Etuk attempted to outsmart his colleagues by declaring only N500million, a paltry one-sixth of the actual bribe he allegedly collected and also participated in the sharing.

The source added that Dr. Teidi and other accomplices paid the Sen. Etuk-led committee the N3bn bribe in dollars after Teidi was coerced into giving details of his assets/ properties, with the promise to soften the severity of his offence, after which he was asked to give out 50 per cent to them.

An obviously angry Dr. Teidi “felt betrayed by the Senate committee leadership’s greed and inability to properly handle our (the accused persons’) matter before” it, our source added, and he therefore resolved to make public all information on the botched agreement.

“In fact, the N3bn bribe offered the senate committee was contributed by all the accused persons, each with the amount of N500million. The committee made us believe that when we give the money being demanded, it will give us a safe landing, thereby escaping prosecution, but, to our greatest dismay, they only succeeded in cutting their own share,” the source quoted Dr. Teidi.

According to the source who pleaded anonymity, trouble started when the deputy chairman of the committee, Senator Kabiru Gaya got wind of the exact sum offered by the accused from an independent source, who is also his kinsman, a former director of the Police Pension Board and incidentally a relation of one of the accused standing trial before the Abuja Court and confronted Senator Etuk with his findings.

The accused director, who hails from the same constituency with the Kano State-born Senator, alleged that he used his own pension loot to buy substantial shares in one of the national dailies, and was said to have approached Gaya to know why their case was yet to be quashed as promised after availing them of the N3bn bribe as requested – a disclosure which shocked the committee’s vice chairman.

The matter took a turn for the worse with Senator Etuk denying the charge levelled against him by the suspects, and other members allegedly lost confidence in him.

The Senator however did not pick the repeated calls made to his phone and neither did he respond to LEADERSHIP’s text messages which sought clarification over the matter.

Senator Etuk had urged the EFCC, the police and other anti-graft agencies to investigate the allegation against him and his committee, claiming that it was the chairman of the task force team who had been trailing the committee with bribe offer to influence the pension scam investigation.
He was quoted to have said that obtained evidence and fact would speak for itself when his committee’s report was submitted to the Senate, not the sentiment of a desperate fellow whose fraud and corrupt act has been exposed. “The committee never and will never request for bribe,” he said.

Ndlea commander claims baba suwe actualy had drugs in his system

National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Commander in charge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Mr. Hamza Umar, in a recent interview throws more light on the controversy surrounding the Baba Suwe saga.

He was asked to defend the accuracy of the scanning machine since it “raised false alarm” in the case of the popular comic actor. Below is Mr. Hamza Umar’s response:

“This machine you are seeing here is 99.9 percent accurate. It has never said this man has this and we find contrary... I know you are going into Baba-Suwe’s matter. Let me clarify myself. You see, before his arrest, I do not know who Baba-Suwe is. My binding factor with Baba-Suwe is that machine.

“He was travelling with a group of friends and the machine picked him and said he had drugs concealed in him. When the matter was becoming controversial, I asked if there is a good screening center here in Lagos. I was told of the University of Lagos teaching hospital and I asked that they should take him there. I did so to have an independent opinion from a professional.

“He was taken there and the Chief Radiologist said look, I have to get my Consultant. He and the Consultant examined, tested and screened him with their machines and gave me the report in writing. Our medical team collected the written report and brought to me. The hospital said in the report that Baba-Suwe had drugs concealed in his stomach. In the report, they said they analyzed him from the head, to the body and down to the legs and concluded that his stomach is invested with particles that are consistent with narcotics. But they said in the report that they cannot specify the drugs by name. They suggested that it could only be specified by laboratories.

“Mind you, I am not an expert in that field. I am only an officer of the NDLEA. If you were in my shoes will you release that man? I did not stop at that anyway, I insisted I wanted another report from another group of experts. I was told that there was another well-equipped place that they call Me-Cure here in Lagos. I said take him there also. I referred him there and they gave me the same result. I will show you the two results before you leave.”

Bus conductor stabs Lastma official

A conductor of a commercial bus identified simply as Ibrahim has been arraigned in a Lagos court for allegedly stabbing an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Akingbohungbe Olalekan, in the hand.
It was alleged that the driver of a Volkswagen vanagon with number plate LAGOS XB 990 AAA, on Wednesday around 3.10pm was obstructing the free flow of traffic by picking and allowing passengers to alight from his bus at an unauthorised place in Ojota area of the state.
He was apprehended by Olalekan and another LASTMA official, Alabi Emmanuel, who attempted to impound his vehicle.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Ibrahim and the driver descended on the officials, beat them up and tore their uniforms.
It was learnt that Ibrahim later strippéd himself nakéd and stood in front of the bus. Our correspondent gathered that a team of policemen and traffic enforcement agents later arrived at the scene.
But the driver reportedly fled while the 28-year-old conductor was arrested and arraigned at a special offences tribunal in Alausa on Wednesday.
At the tribunal, Ibrahim was charged with breach of public peace, obstructing state officers from carrying out their lawful duty, assault and traffic violation by picking passengers in places that were not bus stops.
When his plea was taken, he pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Magistrate Yetunde Phinero admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in the like sum. She adjourned the case till June 21, 2012. But the accused was remanded as he could not meet the bail condition.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Babatunde Edu, on Friday warned that the agency would prosecute traffic offenders, especially the violent ones.
Edu , who said prosecuting traffic offenders would serve as a deterrent to errant motorists, said the warning became imperative in view of the rising cases of attacks on LASTMA officials in recent times.
He said, “LASTMA officials have been trained to be civil in their approach and we do not tolerate act of indiscipline among our officials. But a situation where they are attacked while performing their official duties by errant drivers would no longer be condoned.
“The law is no respecter of anybody and it is necessary that motorists obey traffic rules and regulations to ensure sanity on our roads.
“Rather than take the laws into their hands, we implore motorists to report errant LASTMA officials and we assure them that we will carry out a thorough investigation and act accordingly. We do not condone any act of indiscipline among our officials and we do not cover them up if they erred.”

why isn't nigerian food continental?

When you go for an international buffet, you never get to see Nigerian delicacies, and i've always wondered why. Isn't our food sweet enough? is it too spicy? or is it just beneath world-class standards? Why?
I actually discussed this with my sister and she was of the opinion that while you can say Italian food and think pasta, or say Chinese, or Indian, or even English breakfast, there is no generally accepted Nigerian food.

If anyone is thinking rice right now, please forget it, rice isn't originally Nigerian. So i'd like to know, why do you think Nigerian food isn't continental? Also if we were to name a particular meal 'Nigerian Food' which meal would you suggest?
